Mr. Jenabu C. Williams was born and raised in Newark, NJ. He is a product of public education as he was educated in the Newark and East Orange school district. Mr. Williams graduated from Clifford J. Scott High School in 1992 where he excelled in Track and Field throughout his high school career. Upon graduation from high school, Mr. Williams went on to attend Montclair State University (MSU) where he graduated with his BA in Sociology. Mr. Williams received his Masters Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Rutgers University in 2009. Mr. Williams returned to MSU in the fall of 2016 and graduated with honors with his 2nd Master Degree in Educational Leadership.
Mr. Williams truly enjoys educating and empowering youth! He has worked with youth and families throughout his professional career. Mr. Williams is the former Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Newark and the former Associate Executive Director of the YMCA of Eastern Union County in Elizabeth, NJ. Before joining the Newark Tech family Mr. Williams was a Special Education Supervisor with the Paterson Public School district. Mr. Williams believes in the Nelson Mandela quote which states that “Education is the most powerful tool we can use to change the world.” Because of this belief, Mr. Williams spends countless hours educating, motivating, inspiring, and encouraging youth to do their best and manifest their destiny. Mr. Williams resides in Essex County New Jersey with his loving wife Bennay of 18 years and their two wonderful sons.
