Mr. Joseph DeGiacomo

Joseph DeGiacomo Learning Disability Teacher Consultant (LDT-C) works with the 9th and 10th grade full-time students and Grades 10 and 11 shared time students. He graduated from William Paterson University with Bachelor of Arts in Special Education. He has earned an M.A Learning Disabilities Concentration with Teacher Consultant Endorsement and completed Education Leadership course with a principal endorsement. Before coming West Caldwell Tech he was an educator for nine years and coaches High School football.

Nicole Rivera
School Psychologist

Nicole Rivera, graduated with a Bachelor of Science, in Environmental and Business Economics, from Rutgers University. She earned her Supervisor’s Certification, Master of Arts in Special Education and her Professional Diploma in School Psychology from New Jersey City University. Mrs. Rivera is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. Prior to her role as school psychologist at West Caldwell Tech, Mrs. Rivera served as a dually certified general and special education teacher for thirteen years in the Jersey City Public Schools.

Taliah Joyner
Social Worker

Taliah S. Joyner-Isibor is a graduate of Arts high school in Newark and a former early childhood educator. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), School Social Worker, and previously served the Essex County Schools of Technology as a Student Support Specialist; chairing multidisciplinary Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS) meetings, conducting individual & group mediation counseling, staff presentations, and managing crisis– earning the Shining Star Award in this position. Currently, she provides service for the district as a Child Study Team Case Manager in the Special Services/Education Department at West Caldwell Tech.

Ms. Sara Spoelstra
Speech-Language Therapist

Sara Spoelstra MS, CCC-SLP earned a Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from William Paterson University and is an ASHA and New Jersey State-certified Speech Language Pathologist. She provides language, articulation, fluency, and cognitive therapy as well as life skills and job readiness for students. She is an active member of the IEP team for the students on her caseload and performs comprehensive speech-language evaluations in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other child study team members.
