National Honor Society

The Four Pillars of the National Honor Society

  1. Scholarship
Scholarship refers to a student’s commitment to learning. Members of NHS are expected to maintain high academic standards and show a genuine desire to expand their knowledge. Scholarship is not only about grades, but about valuing education and striving for intellectual growth.
  2. Leadership
Leadership involves taking initiative, inspiring others, and demonstrating a positive influence in school and the community. NHS members are leaders through their actions, whether by organizing events, mentoring peers, or setting a strong example of integrity and responsibility.
  3. Service
Service is about giving back to others without expecting anything in return. NHS members are dedicated to volunteering their time and energy to improve the lives of others. Through community service and school involvement, they demonstrate compassion and a strong sense of civic duty.
  4. Character
Character reflects a student’s moral qualities such as honesty, respect, responsibility, fairness, and caring. It is the foundation for ethical behavior and decision-making. NHS members are expected to uphold high standards of integrity and to treat others with kindness and respect.
