On Wednesday, March 13th 2013 during a special school assembly we officially announced that we have been recognized as a 2012 Blue Ribbon School. This honor was awarded by the United States Department of Education to 9 schools in the state New Jersey. We were singled out for this prestigious recognition because of the improvement in student achievement and test scores during the past 8 years.

The words of our Essex County Executive Mr. Joseph N. DiVincenzo describe the feeling in our learning community, “This prestigious award is evidence of the first-class education provided in our school district.”

During the celebration, our school principal Mr. Singh enthusiastically acknowledged the audience saying, “our achievement is the result of hard work and teamwork on the part of our students, teachers and district.” He concluded by saying that “Every child has the potential to succeed”.

Important leaders from our community highlighted our celebration: Assembly Speaker Ms. Sheila Oliver, NJ State Senator and Deputy Chief of Staff Ms. Teresa Ruiz, Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura, and Chief Talent Officer from the NJ Department of Education Mr. Peter Shulman.

To ensure that programs and services are designed to meet the needs of high school students, as well as the requirements of colleges, technical schools, employers, and the community. All students will achieve the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards at all grade levels.
