MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Welcome to the West Caldwell Campus of Essex County Vocational-Technical Schools. It is my distinct pleasure to be the new principal of this fine institution and begin implementing initiatives that will bring superior results.

My goal is to work collaboratively with all of the stakeholders to nurture and build character within all our students in our attempt to produce educated and productive citizens each and every school year.

Our entire school community embraces the belief that all children are capable of success.  With this belief as a foundation, there is simply no limit to what we can accomplish. We have raised our goals and expectations significantly for this school year.

Some of our goals include:

·       Increased test score proficiency;

·       Continued implementation of the most efficient instructional strategies; 

·       Increased community participation; 

·       Enhanced student recruitment efforts; and

·       Irrefutable academic excellence with improved grades and consistent honor roll status.

In the vocational program we will continue to:

·      Add new unparalleled vocational-technical programs;

·      Infuse state-of-the-art technologies to enhance the learning process: and

·      Continue to insure our programs will produce educated young people with vocational & technical skills that are now, and will continue to be in demand in our ever-changing society.

Our teachers will set in motion an array of new programs and initiatives which will transform our school to one that progressively seeks out new ways of enlightening our students, and keeps our institution flourishing. Furthermore, our students and teachers illustrate their prominence with extensive participation in volunteer & community service activities.  It is in that spirit that we have distinguished our school as one that promotes serving a cause greater than our own self interests in an attempt to understand the needs of our complex society.

Our mission is to be the definition of improvement and results. I hope everyone will join me in the process of leaving our students with the most prosperous future possible. The 2008-2009 school year promises to be our best yet.
