Young Men's Empowerment at Newark Tech
   

Character education is sometimes a missing component in the educational setting. The NJ Department of Education recognizes how critical it is for achieving success in all aspects of academic life. There are guidelines within the NJ Core Curriculum Standards to address character education and the development of leadership qualities.

The Young Men's Empowerment meetings at Newark Tech are tailored to assist with character education and the development of leadership skills. Grade-level sessions are held monthly and present guest speakers from a variety of diverse professions, including education, medicine, finance, law and entrepreneurship. Additionally, select field trip experiences enhance the students understanding of their role as young men in the community.
