On January 24, 2008 the TNT/AFS organization sponsored a spaghetti dinner fundraiser to benefit Newark Tech students who are planning to travel abroad this summer.  The AFS program allows student to obtain educational and life changing experiences that enhance their personal growth and academic achievement.

The AFS students assisted “chefs” Ms. Hunter and Mr. Gary in preparing a full course dinner. The dining hall was decorated with the assistance of Ms. Porter and TNT staff. The guests of the event included TNT alumni, and a special tribute was made in memory of Mr. Kevin Dixson, one of AFS committee members who made his transition this past fall.

The patrons really enjoyed the food, and the fundraiser was successful in nearly raising $900.00 to assist the following five students: Patrick Jones, Tiarah Cobb, Fitzroy Simmonds, Crystal Lamarr, and Andrew Freeman. These Newark Tech students plan to travel a variety of locations including France, Ghana, and Australia.
