Congratulations to the staff and students joining the Essex County North 13th Street Tech Cougar Family for the 2017-2018 school year! This will prove to be another exciting school year as we continue our quest to ‘Aspire to Greatness.’ Over the last several years our staff and students have achieved many exceptional accomplishments through phenomenal academic, Career and Technical Education (CTE), and extracurricular programs. As a result of the collaborative efforts of parents, staff, students, and members of the community, Essex County North 13th Street Tech was recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of America’s Best High Schools for the 8th year in a row. Additionally, Essex County North 13th Street Tech was named a 2017 School of Character by the New Jersey Alliance for Social, Emotional, and Character Development for guiding our students in becoming mindful and proactive citizens of noble character through demonstrated support and care for others.

Contrary to the historical foundation of vocational schools, our learning community is highly committed to ensuring every student is prepared for college, career goals, and life. We offer honors, Advanced Placement, and special education courses in addition to a variety of career and technical education courses. Our dedicated staff is committed to continuous professional growth and to challenging students to reach their greatest potential. Through the implementation of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards, our students acquire 21st Century skills by engaging in critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical processes using a variety of resources including modern technologies. Our safe and nurturing learning environment is sustained by the fostering of self-disciple and student-directed mentoring services.

We are constantly looking for the best of the best to join our Cougar Family. Space is limited; however, we encourage perspective students to submit an online application.
