I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the Bloomfield Tech campus of the Essex County Vocational & Technical Schools. I am pleased that each year many students make the important decision to attend our school and receive an excellent education. Our fine academic and technical programs are producing young men and women who will go on to be the leaders of tomorrow.

Students have the opportunity to select an area of concentration from a wide range of vocational and technical shops, such as Business Technology, Graphic Arts, Electric and Welding. Our art department continues to grow and soon we will be able to offer students an arts education second to none. We are presently planning to add a Television and Video Production shop and Energy Tech shop. No matter what shop area a student selects they will be able to gain the education they will need to go on to post-secondary technical schools, major corporations, self-employment, higher education or military service. Bloomfield Tech graduates can be found all across the United States and the World working in many different occupations.

In addition to our shop programs our students can take advantage of the fine academic programs at Bloomfield Tech. Our academic programs prepare our students for the HSPA and also provide them with the foundation to pursue higher education or other post secondary opportunities. Students can become gainfully employed while still attending high school through participation in our work-study programs. Many of our students are presently working for local businesses, private organizations or governmental agencies. Numerous community and regional employers seek out our students because they are aware of the fine academic, vocational and technical training the students receive at our school.

Bloomfield Tech was recently recognized as a Distinguished Performing Title I School and was one of only two schools in the state of New Jersey to be recognized with this great honor. Bloomfield Tech was also recognized as a Bronze award winner in the recent US News and World Reports list of the best high schools in the United States.

Bloomfield Tech continues to meet the mandates of the No Child Left Behind law by meeting its yearly goals and AYP for the past school year. The meeting of the goals has been accomplished through the continued hard work of dedicated teachers, students, parents and administration. With continued hard work by all concerned parties we will continue to meet our goals in the future.
